Sponsorship availability varies by role, project funding, and citizenship eligibility, so confirming TN visa-specific willingness with each employer directly is important.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Cary, hosts the highest concentration of aerospace and defense employers, particularly in avionics, systems engineering, and defense technology. Charlotte supports aerospace manufacturing and MRO operations. What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility requires the position to fall within a recognized USMCA profession and the applicant to hold a qualifying degree. In aerospace and defense, roles that commonly align include aerospace engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, computer systems analysts, and industrial engineers. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, and the job duties must match the professional category claimed.

Migrate Mate is specifically built for this search. You can filter by TN visa type and the aerospace and defense industry to surface North Carolina employers actively open to sponsoring Canadian and Mexican professionals. This narrows a broad job market down to roles where TN sponsorship is a realistic part of the hiring conversation, saving significant time compared to applying broadly and asking about visa support after the fact.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in North Carolina's aerospace and defense sector?
North Carolina aerospace and defense employers frequently work on U.S. government contracts, which can introduce security clearance requirements. TN visa holders are generally eligible to apply for certain clearance levels, but the process depends on role classification and program requirements. Professionals in defense-adjacent roles should confirm clearance eligibility with the employer before accepting an offer, as some positions may require U.S. citizenship regardless of visa status.
