Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor TN visas in Washington?
Boeing is the dominant employer, with facilities in Everett, Renton, Auburn, and Seattle spanning commercial aircraft, defense systems, and space programs. Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, L3Harris, and Northrop Grumman also maintain Washington operations. Smaller defense contractors and aerospace suppliers clustered around the Puget Sound region regularly hire Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles.
Which cities in Washington have the most aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs?
The Seattle-Everett corridor concentrates the highest volume of opportunities, driven by Boeing's massive manufacturing and engineering footprint. Renton and Auburn add significant presence for commercial aviation programs. Spokane, home to Fairchild Air Force Base and several defense contractors, represents a secondary market. Redmond and Bellevue increasingly attract aerospace-adjacent software and systems engineering roles tied to defense programs.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
Engineers across disciplines, including aerospace, mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering, are the most commonly sponsored roles under the TN visa category. Computer systems analysts, industrial engineers, and scientists in materials or physics also qualify. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, and the job duties must align with the TN occupation list recognized under the USMCA agreement.
How do I find aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate aggregates aerospace and defense positions in Washington specifically filtered for TN visa sponsorship, so you are not sorting through roles that do not support your visa category. Search by Washington state and filter for TN to surface employers in the Boeing supply chain, defense contractors, and engineering firms across the Puget Sound region and Spokane who have indicated willingness to sponsor.
Are there any Washington-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in aerospace and defense?
Washington's defense contractors frequently require security clearances, which can complicate or delay sponsorship since clearance eligibility for non-U.S. citizens depends on the program and contracting agency. Some sensitive programs are restricted to U.S. citizens entirely. Canadian professionals should confirm with the employer upfront whether the specific role is cleared or uncleared. Boeing's commercial divisions generally do not carry the same clearance requirements as defense-specific programs.
