Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor TN visas in Texas?
Several large defense contractors with significant Texas operations have a history of sponsoring TN visas for qualified professionals. Lockheed Martin employs thousands in Fort Worth at its F-35 production facility. Raytheon Intelligence and Space operates extensively in McKinney and El Segundo. L3Harris, Boeing Defense, and Bell Textron also maintain engineering and program management workforces in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Amarillo areas. Sponsorship availability varies by role, business unit, and hiring cycle.
Which cities in Texas have the most aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs?
The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex concentrates the most aerospace and defense TN opportunities in Texas, driven by Lockheed Martin's Fort Worth plant and a dense cluster of suppliers and subcontractors in the region. San Antonio has a strong defense presence anchored by Joint Base San Antonio, which supports numerous contractor roles. Amarillo hosts Bell Textron and several defense manufacturing operations, and Houston draws aerospace talent through NASA's Johnson Space Center and its surrounding contractor ecosystem.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility requires the role to fall within a specific USMCA occupation category. In aerospace and defense, engineers are the most common TN beneficiaries, including aerospace engineers, systems engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers when the role is engineering in nature. Scientific roles such as physicists and computer scientists can also qualify. General program management, contracts, or business development roles typically do not qualify unless they meet a specific listed TN occupation.
How do I find aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international professionals seeking visa-sponsored roles and lets you filter by visa type, industry, and state. For aerospace and defense TN jobs in Texas, you can browse roles from employers that have indicated TN sponsorship willingness, saving significant time compared to manually screening postings. Beyond Migrate Mate, targeting large prime contractors directly and networking through engineering professional associations in the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio markets can surface openings that aren't broadly advertised.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in Texas aerospace and defense?
Many Texas aerospace and defense roles involve work on classified programs or require a U.S. security clearance, which Canadian and Mexican TN workers cannot hold. This limits eligibility for certain positions, particularly those supporting sensitive government contracts. Employers working on unclassified commercial aerospace programs or on contractor roles with no cleared requirement are generally more accessible to TN visa holders. Reviewing the position's clearance requirements before applying is advisable, as uncleared roles are far more common than they may initially appear in job postings.
