Which insurance companies in Texas sponsor TN visas?
Several large carriers and financial services firms with significant Texas operations have a track record of sponsoring TN visas, including USAA (headquartered in San Antonio), Farmers Insurance, Allstate, and Nationwide. Regional brokerages and third-party administrators based in Dallas and Houston also hire TN workers in actuarial and underwriting roles. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific role, hiring manager, and business need at the time of your application.
Which Texas cities have the most insurance TN sponsorship jobs?
Dallas and Houston account for the highest concentration of insurance TN sponsorship jobs in Texas, driven by large corporate headquarters, regional offices, and financial services clusters in both metro areas. San Antonio is notable for USAA's headquarters, which employs actuaries, analysts, and risk professionals. Austin has a smaller but growing insurance presence tied to its broader technology and financial services sector expansion.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility in the insurance industry generally applies to roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Actuaries, statisticians, financial analysts, accountants, and management consultants working within insurance firms commonly qualify. General claims adjusting or sales roles that do not require a qualifying degree typically do not meet TN specialty occupation standards. Confirm the specific USMCA occupation category with your employer before applying.
How do I find insurance TN sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface jobs with TN visa sponsorship, including insurance roles in Texas. You can filter by visa type and state to see current openings at carriers, brokerages, and financial services firms actively hiring TN workers. Because many employers list sponsorship availability inconsistently on general job boards, using a platform like Migrate Mate that screens for sponsorship intent saves significant research time.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Texas does not impose state-level licensing barriers specific to TN visa holders, but insurance professionals in certain roles, such as licensed adjusters or agents, must obtain a Texas Department of Insurance license regardless of visa status. For TN-eligible roles like actuarial analysis or risk management, licensing is generally not a prerequisite to starting work. Canadian citizens can obtain TN status at a port of entry, while Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate, which adds processing time to consider.
