Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor TN visas in New Jersey?
New Jersey hosts several major defense contractors with a history of sponsoring skilled foreign nationals, including L3Harris Technologies in Clifton, Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, and Curtiss-Wright in Parsippany. BAE Systems and Raytheon Technologies also maintain New Jersey operations. TN sponsorship depends on the specific role, the employer's internal immigration policies, and whether the position meets USMCA specialty occupation criteria.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs?
Moorestown is one of the most active hubs, anchored by Lockheed Martin's naval systems operations. Mount Laurel, Parsippany, and Clifton also have notable concentrations of defense employer activity. The Route 1 corridor connecting Princeton and New Brunswick attracts defense-adjacent technology firms. Burlington County and Camden County together form a significant belt of defense contractor presence in southern New Jersey.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility under USMCA covers specific occupational categories, not entire industries. In aerospace and defense, roles that commonly align with qualifying TN categories include aerospace engineers, computer systems analysts, electrical and mechanical engineers, industrial engineers, and scientific researchers. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. General program management or administrative roles typically do not qualify.
How do I find aerospace and defense TN sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by TN visa type and the aerospace and defense industry to see New Jersey roles from employers open to sponsoring Canadian and Mexican professionals. Because TN sponsorship eligibility depends on the specific job title and duties, reviewing detailed job descriptions on Migrate Mate and confirming your occupational category qualifies before applying is a practical first step.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in New Jersey aerospace and defense?
New Jersey defense contractors frequently work on classified government programs, which can create security clearance requirements separate from the TN visa process itself. Canadian and Mexican nationals are generally eligible to obtain U.S. security clearances, but the process takes time and varies by program. Additionally, some defense roles involve export-controlled technology subject to ITAR, which employers must account for during the hiring and onboarding process for any foreign national, including TN holders.
