Job Title: Platform Automation Engineer
Duration: 18 Month W2 Contract
Location: Charlotte, NC
Required Pay Scale: $75-$89/hour
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Automating patch certification, testing, and delivery pipelines for MuleSoft runtime and Spring-based integration platforms.
- Design, build, and operate fully automated, scalable certification frameworks and integration pipelines supporting enterprise API ecosystems.
- Automating Mule Runtime patch certification and delivery.
- Automating Spring Cloud Gateway / Spring Integration patch validation.
- Building test harnesses and orchestration frameworks.
- Driving DevOps practices using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting.
Typical deliverables include:
- Fully automated Mule runtime patch certification workflow and delivery pipeline.
- Fully automated Spring Gateway/Integration patch certification workflow and delivery pipeline.
- Test harness that runs hundreds of integration scenarios.
- Terraform-driven environment setup for certification testing.
- Ansible-based automated patch rollout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Automation Certification:
- Design and implement automated certification pipelines for MuleSoft Runtime (major/minor/patch versions) and Spring Cloud Gateway and Spring Integration frameworks (major/minor/patch versions).
- Automate validation of compatibility across runtime environments (VM, containers, cloud).
- Build end-to-end patch validation workflows including deployment, functional testing, and non-functional validation (performance, resiliency).
- Test Harness Orchestration:
- Develop scalable test harness frameworks with multiple test scenarios (functional, integration) and data-driven test execution models.
- Build orchestration layers to trigger automated workflows, manage certification lifecycle, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.

Enable reusable testing patterns for integration systems.

DevOps Infrastructure Automation:
- Terraform for multi-environment provisioning.
- Ansible for configuration management and patch execution.
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Git-based workflows) and automated deployment and rollback strategies.
- Implement observability and operational monitoring hooks.
- Develop APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Any point Platform, Spring Boot / Spring Cloud / Spring Integration, API lifecycle management, and gateway configuration and optimization.
- Support hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, container platforms).
- Ensure patching aligns with vulnerability remediation strategies and runtime security policies.
- Automate compliance validation within pipelines and integrate security scanning and drift detection.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong experience with:
- Ansible
- Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Python
- Linux Shell scripting
- Cloud AWS (Azure is also okay)
- Deep understanding of:
- REST APIs
- API gateway patterns
- Integration architectures
- AI-assisted automation or intelligent testing frameworks
- MuleSoft Runtime Fabric / container deployments
