Position Overview
K&K Technical Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support manufacturing operations and new model launch activities at a major automotive battery manufacturing facility in Liberty, North Carolina.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing project management, project scheduling, KPI reporting, and cross-functional coordination. This individual will play a key role in managing project milestones, supporting production readiness, and ensuring successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate manufacturing projects and new model launch activities from planning through start of production.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Track project progress, identify potential delays, and communicate updates to management and executive leadership.
- Lead cross-functional project meetings to review schedules, address challenges, and implement corrective actions.
- Support pre-production trials, including parts coordination, scheduling, and production readiness activities.
- Coordinate facility preparation, equipment installation milestones, and construction-related project activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, facilities, and project management teams.
- Identify project risks, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and performance dashboards using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, and lessons-learned activities.
- Coordinate with domestic and international teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent professional project experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, project management, or a related role.
- Experience managing projects involving capital investments exceeding $500,000.
- Strong experience developing project schedules, tracking milestones, and reporting KPIs.
- Experience presenting project updates and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other project reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work onsite and support occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, or plant shutdowns as needed.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 10%.
