Search Healthcare Jobs in North CarolinaHealthcare TN Sponsorship Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
Which healthcare companies sponsor TN visas in North Carolina?
North Carolina's largest health systems are among the most active TN visa sponsors in the state. Duke Health, UNC Health Care, Atrium Health, Novant Health, and WakeMed Health & Hospitals have hiring patterns that include internationally trained clinicians and allied health professionals. Academic medical centers like Duke University Hospital and UNC Medical Center are particularly active given their research and teaching missions, which often drive international recruitment.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most healthcare TN sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, has the highest concentration of healthcare TN sponsorship activity, driven by major academic medical centers and a dense network of hospitals and specialty clinics. Charlotte is a close second, anchored by Atrium Health and Novant Health's regional networks. Greensboro and Winston-Salem also have meaningful healthcare employment bases through Cone Health and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist respectively.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
The TN visa covers a defined list of healthcare occupations for Canadian and Mexican citizens. Qualifying roles include physicians, nurses (registered nurses with a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree), physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, medical laboratory technologists, nutritionists, dietitians, and scientific technicians in clinical settings. Administrative healthcare roles, medical assistants, and roles that do not require a specific qualifying degree generally do not meet TN eligibility criteria.
How do I find healthcare TN sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by TN visa type, the healthcare industry, and North Carolina to see roles where employers have indicated sponsorship availability. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a position does not support TN sponsorship. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on visa-sponsoring employers, which is particularly useful in healthcare where sponsorship willingness varies significantly by facility size and type.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in North Carolina healthcare?
North Carolina requires out-of-state and internationally trained healthcare professionals to obtain state licensure before practicing, regardless of visa status. For registered nurses, this means applying to the North Carolina Board of Nursing, which has its own timeline and documentation requirements. Physicians must obtain a North Carolina Medical Board license. Employers will typically begin the TN process only after licensure is confirmed or near completion, so understanding licensure timelines is important when planning your job search.
