Which accounting companies sponsor TN visas in North Carolina?
The Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and KPMG, all have North Carolina offices and have historically sponsored TN workers in accounting roles. Large regional employers including Bank of America, Duke Energy, and Fidelity Investments in Charlotte also file TN petitions for qualified accounting professionals. Regional mid-size CPA firms occasionally sponsor TN visas, though large multinationals are the most consistent sponsors.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most accounting TN sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte is North Carolina's primary hub for accounting TN sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of financial institutions, corporate headquarters, and Big Four offices. The Research Triangle area, encompassing Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, offers opportunities through technology companies and university-affiliated organizations. Greensboro and Winston-Salem have smaller but active accounting markets tied to manufacturing, healthcare, and insurance sectors.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
The TN visa category explicitly lists Accountant as a qualifying profession. Roles that typically qualify include staff accountant, senior accountant, financial analyst, internal auditor, tax accountant, and management accountant, provided the position requires a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree in accounting or a closely related field. General bookkeeping roles or positions that do not require a relevant degree at the bachelor's level generally do not qualify under the TN Accountant category.
How do I find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate lists accounting jobs in North Carolina specifically filtered by TN visa sponsorship, so you can focus on employers already open to TN candidates rather than cold-applying and asking about sponsorship later. Search for roles like staff accountant, tax accountant, or financial analyst in Charlotte and the Research Triangle. Filtering by TN visa type on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to positions where sponsorship is a realistic part of the hiring process.
Are there any state-specific considerations for TN accounting sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina does not require a state CPA license to work as a staff or senior accountant in most corporate roles, though licensure strengthens candidacy. The state's significant financial services sector in Charlotte means many TN accounting roles are tied to banking and investment firms, which can have internal compliance requirements beyond the standard TN documentation. Employers in regulated industries may require additional credentialing reviews before extending an offer that includes TN sponsorship.
