Search Healthcare Jobs in CaliforniaHealthcare TN Sponsorship Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
Which healthcare companies sponsor TN visas in California?
California's largest health systems are among the most active TN visa sponsors in the country. Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, Dignity Health, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and UC Health (part of the University of California system) have all hired TN professionals across clinical and allied health roles. Academic medical centers affiliated with UCLA, UCSF, and USC also sponsor TN workers, particularly in specialized clinical and research-adjacent positions.
Which cities in California have the most healthcare TN sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles and the greater LA metro area generate the highest volume of healthcare TN opportunities in California, driven by its large hospital networks and medical centers. San Francisco and San Diego are also significant hubs, with strong demand in biotech-adjacent healthcare roles. Sacramento sees consistent hiring through Sutter Health and UC Davis Health. Fresno and the Central Valley have growing demand, particularly for physical therapists and medical technologists where shortages are acute.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visas cover a defined list of healthcare occupations. In California, the most commonly sponsored categories include physical therapists, medical laboratory technologists, pharmacists, occupational therapists, dietitians, medical technicians (under the technologist category), and scientific nurses. Physicians can qualify under the scientist category in research contexts, though direct patient care roles for physicians typically require a different visa pathway. Each role must match a specific TN occupation category and require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
How do I find healthcare TN sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by TN visa type, California as the state, and the healthcare industry to see active job postings from employers who have indicated TN sponsorship willingness. This matters because most general job boards don't surface visa sponsorship availability clearly. For Canadian and Mexican professionals targeting California healthcare roles, Migrate Mate's filters save significant time compared to manually reviewing employer career pages.
Are there any California-specific considerations for healthcare TN sponsorship?
California requires state licensure for most regulated healthcare professions, and licensure requirements are independent of TN visa status. For example, physical therapists must hold a California Physical Therapy License, and pharmacists must pass the California Pharmacy Law Exam in addition to federal licensure requirements. Employers typically will not extend a TN offer until licensure eligibility is confirmed. Processing timelines for California licenses can run several months, so factoring this into your job search timeline is important.
