Which companies sponsor visas for hospitalists in North Dakota?
The largest sponsors of hospitalist visa petitions in North Dakota are Sanford Health, CHI St. Alexius Health, and Essentia Health. Critical Access Hospitals in smaller communities like Minot and Dickinson also sponsor, often partnering with regional staffing and locum tenens groups that handle the H-1B or J-1 waiver process on behalf of rural facilities.
Which visa types are most common for hospitalist roles in North Dakota?
H-1B is the most common visa for hospitalists in North Dakota, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a medical degree. J-1 Conrad 30 waivers are also widely used, since North Dakota regularly allocates waiver slots to physicians who commit to practicing in underserved areas. Both pathways require employer sponsorship.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most hospitalist sponsorship jobs?
Bismarck and Fargo account for the majority of hospitalist openings in North Dakota, anchored by CHI St. Alexius Health and Sanford Health respectively. Grand Forks, home to the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, also sees consistent hiring activity. Smaller cities like Minot and Williston post hospitalist roles periodically, particularly through Critical Access Hospital networks.
How to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate filters hospitalist openings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search North Dakota without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces positions at health systems like Sanford Health and CHI St. Alexius Health alongside smaller Critical Access facilities that actively sponsor, saving significant time in an otherwise fragmented job search.
Are there state-specific considerations for hospitalists seeking visa sponsorship in North Dakota?
North Dakota's Conrad 30 J-1 waiver program is a practical option worth understanding for internationally trained physicians. The state targets waiver slots toward Health Professional Shortage Areas, which cover much of rural North Dakota. Physicians who complete a three-year service commitment in a qualifying facility can then pursue permanent residency through an EB-2 or EB-3 petition sponsored by their employer.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitalist jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
