Which companies sponsor visas for business development executives in Ohio?
Large Ohio-headquartered employers including Nationwide Insurance, Progressive Corporation, Procter and Gamble, and Cardinal Health have established histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in business and commercial roles. Major technology and consulting firms with Ohio offices, such as Accenture, Deloitte, and IBM, also file H-1B petitions for senior business development positions. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for business development executive roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business development executives in Ohio, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as business administration, marketing, or finance. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrable extraordinary achievement in their field. Candidates already holding L-1A or TN status through a qualifying employer may also be eligible depending on their specific situation.
Which cities in Ohio have the most business development executive sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for business development executive sponsorship activity, driven by its dense concentration of insurance, financial services, and technology employers. Cleveland follows, with strength in manufacturing, healthcare, and professional services firms. Cincinnati is a strong third market, anchored by consumer goods giants and logistics companies. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron see occasional openings but at significantly lower volume than these three cities.
How to find business development executive visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse business development executive roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by city, industry, and visa type to match your profile. Given that sponsorship for senior commercial roles in Ohio is concentrated among a specific set of employers, using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate saves significant research time.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for business development executives seeking sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio follows federal Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, so sponsoring employers must pay wages meeting the DOL standard for the specific role and location, which differs between Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati metro areas. Business development executive roles must qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules, meaning the position must genuinely require a relevant bachelor's degree as a baseline. Ohio's concentration of insurance and financial services firms means industry-specific business credentials tend to strengthen applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development executive jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
