This role will manage project planning, scheduling, contracts, subcontractors, budgets, materials, design coordination, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from start to finish with full project ownership.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and overall execution plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Review construction documents for constructability, accuracy, and budget compliance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate the design process with owners, architects, and engineers.
- Review, negotiate, and manage AIA contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements.
- Review subcontractor bids and prepare/negotiate subcontracts.
- Monitor project costs and ensure work remains within approved budgets.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment, materials, and project activities.
- Identify and proactively resolve issues that could impact schedules, costs, or project quality.
- Provide regular progress updates regarding project costs, schedules, and milestones.
- Work with consultants and project stakeholders to resolve construction issues.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Maintain a proactive approach to contingency planning and changing project requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction, engineering, and architectural principles.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong subcontractor, vendor, and client coordination skills.
- Ability to manage aggressive construction schedules and competing priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to identify potential risks and obstacles affecting project schedules and costs.
