Which airlines companies in Ohio sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
Airlines and aviation-adjacent employers in Ohio with documented STEM OPT sponsorship history include cargo and logistics operations at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Columbus-based freight carriers, and regional aviation maintenance organizations. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications for engineering, data analytics, and systems roles are the most active sponsors. Reviewing OFLC disclosure data by Ohio employer and STEM degree classification helps identify companies with consistent sponsorship activity in aviation.
Which Ohio cities have the most F-1 STEM OPT airlines sponsorship jobs?
Cleveland and Columbus account for the majority of F-1 STEM OPT airlines sponsorship activity in Ohio. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport anchors significant cargo and ground operations employment, while Columbus hosts freight logistics and aviation technology roles tied to its central distribution position. Dayton also contributes through its aerospace manufacturing and Wright-Patterson-adjacent aviation support sector, creating STEM-eligible positions in systems engineering and operations research.
How do I find airlines F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters airlines jobs in Ohio specifically for F-1 STEM OPT eligibility, showing employers with verified sponsorship history and STEM-designated role types. You can search by city, job function, and employer to find positions where your OPT authorization aligns with the role's STEM degree classification. Focusing on employers who have previously filed LCAs for aviation engineering, data, or logistics technology roles in Ohio significantly improves your targeting.
What airlines roles in Ohio typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles qualifying for F-1 STEM OPT in the Ohio airlines sector are tied to STEM-designated STEM degree classifications. These include aviation systems engineers, operations research analysts, data analysts supporting route or logistics optimization, software developers for flight operations platforms, and industrial engineers in ground handling or cargo workflows. Roles in customer service, ticketing, or general administration do not carry STEM OPT eligibility regardless of employer sponsorship intent.
Are there Ohio-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in airlines?
Ohio employers sponsoring F-1 STEM OPT workers must be enrolled in E-Verify, a federal requirement for all STEM OPT extension employers. Ohio's aviation sector skews toward cargo, freight logistics, and MRO rather than major passenger carriers, so STEM-eligible roles often appear in operations and engineering functions rather than passenger-facing departments. Students should confirm their DSO has updated their I-20 and that the employer's primary business code aligns with the STEM OPT training plan requirements.
