Which consumer goods companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Ohio?
Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati is among the most active F-1 STEM OPT sponsors in Ohio's consumer goods sector, hiring across data science, chemical engineering, and supply chain. Nestlé, Scotts Miracle-Gro, and Sherwin-Williams also have Ohio operations with documented OPT hiring in technical roles. Smaller contract manufacturers and private-label producers throughout the state occasionally sponsor as well, particularly for roles in quality assurance and process engineering.
Which cities in Ohio have the most consumer goods F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Cincinnati leads by a significant margin due to Procter & Gamble's global headquarters and the dense cluster of consumer goods suppliers and logistics firms it anchors. Columbus follows, driven by retail analytics, e-commerce fulfillment technology, and food and beverage brands. Cleveland offers opportunities in specialty chemicals and household product manufacturing. Dayton and Toledo have smaller but active pockets in packaging engineering and industrial consumer goods production.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify are those classified under STEM-designated degree fields by ICE. In consumer goods, that typically includes supply chain data analyst, process engineer, packaging engineer, operations research analyst, consumer insights data scientist, and quality systems engineer. The position must require applying STEM knowledge directly. General marketing coordinator or sales representative roles rarely qualify because they don't depend on a STEM degree as a baseline requirement.
How do I find consumer goods F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for F-1 STEM OPT-eligible positions and surfaces consumer goods employers in Ohio with verified sponsorship history. Because not every job posting explicitly states OPT eligibility, Migrate Mate's employer-level data helps you identify companies that have previously supported OPT students in STEM roles, narrowing your search to realistic targets in the Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland markets.
Are there any Ohio-specific or consumer goods industry considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Ohio has a strong manufacturing and consumer products base, which means many STEM OPT positions involve on-site or plant-based work rather than fully remote roles. Your DSO must authorize STEM OPT before your standard OPT expires, and the employer must be enrolled in E-Verify, which is standard for large consumer goods companies in the state. Ohio-headquartered firms tend to have established HR processes for OPT, but smaller regional suppliers may need more lead time to confirm E-Verify enrollment.
