ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and model telecommunications designs, including inside and outside plant pathways, equipment layouts, and structured cabling systems.
- Create, manage, and maintain 3D Revit models in accordance with project requirements and established design standards.
- Prepare engineering drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software.
- Develop initial designs, refine sketches, and incorporate drawing markups and revisions.
- Support design calculations, component sizing, and technical problem-solving.
- Coordinate telecommunications BIM models with other engineering disciplines and project teams.
- Maintain model accuracy, data integrity, and organized project documentation.
- Ensure design deliverables meet project scope, budget, schedule, and applicable codes and specifications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience; OR
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, and 2D/3D design applications.
- Autodesk Revit experience strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications systems, design principles, and calculations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary teams.
