Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Ohio?
Ohio-based distribution and wholesale employers with a history of sponsoring international graduates include Cardinal Health in Dublin, Owens & Minor, Gordon Food Service, and Performance Food Group's Ohio facilities. Large third-party logistics firms operating distribution centers in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland also sponsor STEM OPT workers in supply chain engineering, data analytics, and operations research roles. Check each employer's DOL Labor Condition Application filings to verify sponsorship history.
Which cities in Ohio have the most distribution and wholesale F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for distribution and wholesale sponsorship opportunities, driven by its position as a major logistics hub with direct interstate access to roughly half the U.S. population within a day's drive. Cleveland and Cincinnati follow, each supporting large wholesale and food distribution networks. Dayton and Toledo also have notable concentrations of distribution employers, particularly in automotive parts wholesale and manufacturing-adjacent supply chain roles.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for STEM OPT authorization must be directly related to a qualifying STEM degree. In distribution and wholesale, that typically includes supply chain analyst, logistics engineer, demand planning analyst, warehouse operations engineer, inventory data analyst, and procurement analyst positions. General sales, account management, or non-technical operations roles usually do not qualify. Review the USCIS STEM Designated Degree Program list and confirm your specific degree and role combination with your Designated School Official before accepting an offer.
How do I find distribution and wholesale F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and graduates seeking visa sponsorship employment, and lets you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface distribution and wholesale F-1 STEM OPT positions in Ohio. Because sponsorship history is surfaced directly from DOL data, you can identify which Ohio employers have actually filed for STEM OPT workers rather than relying on job descriptions that may not reflect actual sponsorship willingness.
Are there any Ohio-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in distribution and wholesale?
Ohio does not impose state-level restrictions on F-1 STEM OPT employment, but distribution and wholesale employers in the state are often subject to federal E-Verify requirements if they hold government contracts or operate in regulated supply chains. Employers sponsoring STEM OPT workers must be E-Verify participants, which many large Ohio distribution operators already are. Shift-based warehouse environments sometimes complicate the training plan requirement, so confirm your employer can provide a formal written STEM OPT training plan covering your specific technical role before accepting an offer.
