Your Opportunity as the Analyst, Research & Development Data & Systems
Join our R&D team as a Systems Analyst and play a critical role in powering how innovation comes to life. In this position, you’ll be at the center of our product lifecycle—managing (PLM) specifications, enabling system workflows, and ensuring data accuracy across PLM/Prodika and related platforms. Acting as a key connector between R&D, project teams, and enterprise systems, you’ll help translate complex technical needs into seamless processes that drive speed, quality, and compliance. If you enjoy working at the intersection of technology, data, and cross-functional collaboration, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we bring products to market.
Location: Orrville, OH
Work Arrangements: hybrid, 35% in office expectation
In this role you will:
- Partner with Packaging Development Engineers and external vendors to gather and validate data needed to create, maintain, and route packaging specifications for approval, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Support Pet R&D PLM/Prodika users by managing specification changes, new builds, and item requests; generating reports; delivering user training; and serving as the primary liaison between end users and enterprise systems teams for system issues, outages, and enhancement requests.
- Provide flexible support across the business by contributing to specification builds and related activities for adjacent product lines as priorities shift.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to execute specification inactivation, archiving, and system data cleanup activities to maintain data integrity and compliance.
- Support related data system initiatives by inputting and maintaining aligned data for customer-facing specifications.
- Participate in Pet R&D quality initiatives, including Key Quality Elements and quality facility audits, to support compliance and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Engineering, Food Science, Data/Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Strong technical aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other core business tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical information for cross-functional partners
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate and resolve straightforward system or process issues
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing business needs with a sense of urgency
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
- Experience working with specification management or product lifecycle management (PLM) systems (e.g., Oracle PLM, Prodika, Pega, Riversand)
- Understanding of product labeling, regulatory requirements, or data governance practices
- Experience supporting system users, including training, troubleshooting, or documentation
- Familiarity with GS1 standards or Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) guidelines
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment within R&D, supply chain, quality, or operations

Which food and beverage companies in Ohio sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
Ohio-based food and beverage employers with documented STEM OPT sponsorship activity include Kroger, Nestlé USA, and Campbell Soup's manufacturing operations. Larger food manufacturers and agricultural processing companies in Ohio are generally more likely to have established international hiring infrastructure. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data through the OFLC can help you identify which specific employers have recently sponsored STEM-eligible roles.
Which Ohio cities have the most food and beverage F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland are Ohio's primary hubs for food and beverage STEM OPT roles. Columbus hosts corporate headquarters for several major food retailers and manufacturers. Cincinnati has a strong concentration of consumer packaged goods companies with technical hiring needs. Cleveland supports food processing and distribution operations. Smaller manufacturing clusters also exist in Toledo and Dayton.
What types of food and beverage roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Ohio?
Roles that commonly qualify include food scientist, quality assurance engineer, process engineer, supply chain analyst, and data scientist positions within food manufacturing or distribution. These positions typically require a STEM-designated degree such as food science, chemical engineering, data analytics, or industrial engineering. The role must appear on the STEM OPT eligible CIP code list and your degree program must be STEM-designated by your school's DSO.
How do I find food and beverage F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for food and beverage employers in Ohio who have filed for F-1 STEM OPT-compatible roles, using DOL Labor Condition Application data to surface verified sponsorship history. This is more reliable than general job boards because it shows which employers have actually sponsored international workers, not just which ones say they are open to it. Filtering by Ohio location and food and beverage industry on Migrate Mate will show you active and historically active sponsors.
Are there any Ohio-specific or food and beverage industry considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Ohio has no state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal STEM OPT rules, but food and beverage roles often require background checks, food handler certifications, or facility security clearances that can affect onboarding timelines. Manufacturing-heavy roles may require in-person work from day one, so remote-first STEM OPT arrangements are less common in this industry. Confirming that your specific degree's CIP code is STEM-designated with your DSO before applying is important.
