DESCRIPTION:
As the Safety Coordinator, you will assist in ensuring a safe workplace and ensure compliance with safety and health procedures and regulations. Also assist in developing and implementing appropriate safety and health management processes and systems at the site level and support functional objectives within the framework of Intigral, Inc.’s corporate philosophy. This position requires 15% travel, primary to support other locations as needed and attend conferences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Health & Safety
- Develop and coordinate OSHA compliance training for all employees and support HR in maintaining required documentation
- Develop and assist with new hire safety orientation training
- Act as chairman of the safety committee team
- Oversee the creation of policies to standardize expectations for employees regarding safe behavior and emergency preparedness
- Conduct regular risk assessment to identify, measure and evaluate known or potential hazards in the workplace
- Maintain working knowledge of all required regulations
- Develop and monitor emergency actions plans
- Coordinate drills and training to ensure staff are fully prepared to act quickly during unexpected workplace incidents and emergencies
- Act as the primary coordinator for onsite events involving emergency responders
- Lead the investigation into all accidents and incidents. Report findings and recommend effective correction actions
ENVIRONMENTAL DUTIES:
- Manage the environmental programs, processes, and all mandated environmental reporting
- Ensure compliance with all required environmental permits, reporting and sampling
- Recommend changes to process systems to improve compliance
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety or 3-5 years of related industrial safety field experience
- Safety professional experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Capable of communicating and working effectively with all levels of management and the hourly workforce
- Attention to detail and flexibility is a must
- Must be capable of using personal computer and Microsoft software
