Position Summary:
The Product Manager role is a corporate position responsible for the development of products, equipment, collateral and training materials. The PM is responsible for all line maintenance required to support sales growth throughout all divisions of State Industrial Products.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and implement an annual plan for expanding Company penetration of the markets within the PM’s responsible product lines
- Coordinate product line and business development activities with overall Company strategy and plans to increase sales and revenue growth for responsible product lines
- Monitor sales, gross margin and contribution margin performance versus budget and prior year and adjust program strategy as needed. Set pricing with controllers for all products and programs
- Manage all products added to, or deleted from the line, following the Company’s commercialization process
- Manage generation of technical material, collateral, training and promotional materials required to support and grow the product lines
- Provide field sales and technical support as needed to support the program
- Lead the Company’s response to competitive product initiatives
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all products in line
- Ensure that lines are complete and represent best available technology
- Achieve operational efficiencies for assigned product lines including inventory levels, package/formulation/label optimization and product line rationalization. Minimize slow moving inventory costs
- Understand and support the Company’s quality systems
- Complete special projects from time to time as required to facilitate the success of the Company
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; business or technology major preferred
- Strong technical proficiency with the ability to quickly learn new tools and applications
- Positive, customer-focused mindset with a strong field service and support orientation
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective business and project plans
- Skilled in training others on the correct application and use of products
- Hands-on ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot field equipment and technical needs
- Capable of assisting the sales team in closing opportunities at all levels
- Experience creating program support materials to drive success
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in pricing, financial, and marketing analysis
- Demonstrated ability to expand product offerings within existing accounts and secure new customers
- Effective collaborator with experience working on cross-functional project teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly results-driven with strong business acumen and integrity
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
