Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for sales executives?
Large Ohio-headquartered employers are the most active sponsors for sales executive roles. Companies like Cardinal Health, Nationwide Insurance, Sherwin-Williams, and Huntington Bancshares have histories of H-1B visa sponsorship in commercial and business development positions. Healthcare technology firms in Columbus and industrial manufacturers in Cleveland and Dayton also sponsor international candidates, particularly for enterprise or regional sales roles tied to specialized product knowledge.
What visa types are most commonly used for sales executive roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales executives in Ohio, but the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field as a standard requirement. L-1B visas apply when an international employee transfers into a sales role from an overseas office of the same company. O-1 visas are rare for sales positions but possible for candidates with documented exceptional performance records.
Which Ohio cities have the most sales executive visa sponsorship opportunities?
Columbus leads Ohio for sales executive sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of insurance, healthcare IT, and financial services employers. Cleveland follows with strength in manufacturing, logistics, and professional services B2B sales. Cincinnati's presence of large consumer goods and healthcare companies, including Procter and Gamble and Kroger, creates demand for senior commercial roles. Dayton and Toledo contribute opportunities in industrial and automotive supply chain sales.
How to find sales executive visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters sales executive roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through positions that won't consider candidates who need work authorization. The platform focuses on employers with active sponsorship histories, which matters especially for sales roles where sponsorship willingness varies widely by company size and sales model. Search Ohio-specific listings on Migrate Mate to identify active openings.
Are there state-specific considerations for sales executive visa sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio employers filing H-1B petitions for sales executives must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metro area, which differ between Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Proving specialty occupation status is the main challenge for sales roles, since USCIS scrutinizes positions where a degree is preferred but not strictly required. Candidates with degrees in technical fields tied to the product being sold, such as engineering for industrial sales, generally face fewer challenges in this determination.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales executive jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
