Which chemicals & materials companies sponsor TN visas in Ohio?
Ohio has a deep concentration of chemicals and materials employers with a history of hiring international technical talent. Sherwin-Williams and RPM International, both headquartered in Cleveland, regularly employ chemists and materials scientists. Materion in Mayfield Heights works extensively in advanced materials and alloys. Lubrizol, Ashland, and OMNOVA Solutions also operate significant Ohio facilities and have sponsored TN workers in technical roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most chemicals & materials TN sponsorship jobs?
Cleveland and its northeastern Ohio suburbs are the densest market, driven by the headquarters of Sherwin-Williams, RPM International, Lubrizol, and Materion. Columbus has a growing chemicals and specialty materials presence tied to its research institutions and manufacturing base. Akron retains a strong polymer and rubber chemistry legacy, and Toledo offers additional opportunities in glass science and industrial coatings.
What types of chemicals & materials roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
The TN visa covers a defined list of occupations, and within chemicals and materials, the most common qualifying roles are chemists and chemical engineers. Materials scientists and metallurgical engineers also appear frequently in Ohio TN sponsorships. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, and the job duties listed by the employer must align closely with the TN occupation category claimed.
How do I find chemicals & materials TN sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Ohio chemicals and materials jobs where employers are open to TN visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically by visa type and industry, so you can browse roles in chemical engineering, materials science, and related fields without sorting through positions that won't support TN status. Searching by Ohio location on Migrate Mate surfaces openings across Cleveland, Columbus, Akron, and Toledo.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in the chemicals & materials industry?
Ohio's chemicals sector is heavily research-oriented, and many employers are affiliated with universities or government-funded labs, which can complicate TN eligibility since the TN category requires a commercial employer relationship rather than a research stipend arrangement. Additionally, roles in polymer science around Akron may blend engineering and research functions, so it's worth confirming with an immigration attorney that the specific position description clearly maps to a listed TN occupation before accepting an offer.
