Which manufacturing companies sponsor visas in Oklahoma?
Major visa sponsors include Boeing (aerospace components), Baker Hughes (oilfield equipment), Tyson Foods (food processing), and Devon Energy (manufacturing operations). Smaller companies like AAON (HVAC systems) and Unit Corporation also regularly sponsor H-1B visas for engineering and technical roles. Most sponsorship occurs in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metropolitan areas.
How to find manufacturing visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate specializes in manufacturing visa sponsorship jobs specifically in Oklahoma, filtering positions by companies with proven H-1B and sponsorship track records. Focus on aerospace hubs around Oklahoma City, energy equipment manufacturers in Tulsa, and food processing facilities statewide. Many Oklahoma manufacturers prefer candidates with specialized engineering degrees or technical certifications.
Which visa types are most common for manufacturing roles in Oklahoma?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering positions (mechanical, chemical, industrial engineers), while TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in technical roles. Some companies use L-1 visas for intracompany transfers, particularly in aerospace and energy sectors. O-1 visas are rare but possible for highly specialized manufacturing process experts.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most manufacturing sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City leads with aerospace manufacturing (Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems), followed by Tulsa for energy equipment and general manufacturing. Broken Arrow hosts several mid-size manufacturers, while Enid and Ardmore offer food processing opportunities. Smaller cities like Altus and McAlester have niche manufacturing employers that occasionally sponsor visas.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for manufacturing jobs in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's lower cost of living results in prevailing wages typically 15-25% below national averages, which can benefit H-1B applications by reducing salary requirements. The Department of Labor sets specific prevailing wages for each metropolitan area, with Oklahoma City and Tulsa having the highest rates. Rural manufacturing positions often qualify at lower wage levels.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manufacturing jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
