Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapists in Oklahoma?
The largest sponsors in Oklahoma tend to be major health systems, including INTEGRIS Health, OU Health, Saint Francis Health System, and Ascension St. John. Rehabilitation-focused networks like Encompass Health also operate facilities throughout the state. Long-term care providers and rural critical access hospitals frequently sponsor physical therapists as well, particularly in areas designated as health professional shortage areas by the federal government.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapist roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for internationally trained physical therapists in Oklahoma, as the role meets specialty occupation requirements given the required degree in physical therapy. The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is also widely used, often with employer-sponsored PERM labor certification. Some physical therapists enter on TN visas if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals, as physical therapy is a qualifying TN profession.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most physical therapist sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the largest share of physical therapist sponsorship opportunities in Oklahoma, given their concentration of major hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation centers. Lawton, Norman, and Broken Arrow also have active demand. Rural areas across western and southeastern Oklahoma frequently recruit sponsored physical therapists due to persistent workforce shortages, and positions in those areas may come with additional incentive packages from employers.
How to find physical therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find physical therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability, so you are not sifting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. You can filter by state to see active Oklahoma postings from health systems, rehabilitation providers, and outpatient clinics that have a documented history of sponsoring international physical therapists.
Are there state-specific considerations for internationally trained physical therapists pursuing sponsorship in Oklahoma?
International physical therapists must obtain licensure from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision before practicing in the state. This typically requires passing the NPTE, meeting education equivalency standards, and in many cases completing a credentials evaluation. Oklahoma participates in the Physical Therapy Compact, which can simplify licensure for those already licensed in other compact member states. Employers generally factor licensure timelines into their onboarding process for sponsored candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapist jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
