Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use computers, basic computer knowledge, as needed for data input and reporting.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical patient care by administering appropriate treatment.
- Progresses patient treatment as appropriate.
- Assists RPT in modifying and re-setting functional goals.
- Carries patient load that reflects productivity standards.
- Provides documentation by:
1) maintaining appropriate treatment records;
2) completing accurate daily patient charge sheets.
- Completes patient records in a timely (same day) manner.
- Accurately reflects time spent and procedures performed as well as equipment issued in patient charges.
- Maintains technical (education) expertise through:
1) attendance and participation in continuing education activities; and
2) departmental in-services.
- Attends 95% of scheduled in-services and departmental meetings.
- Attends one off-campus continuing-education activity per year.
- Provides instruction (teaching) to patients and/or family members.
- Follows care path guidelines for patient/family education and documentation of home programs.
- Teaches patient/family member proper use of equipment issued.
- Follows set guidelines for daily operations.
- Schedules and prioritizes daily work assignments.
- Delegates, as appropriate, to support personnel basic patient treatments to follow through with.
- Assists with PT volunteers and RPTA students as requested by (in-charge) therapist.
- Consistent and correct time-care utilization.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships:
- Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise).
- Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise).
- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
