Which companies sponsor visas for program analysts in Oklahoma?
Defense contractors with operations near Tinker Air Force Base, including Boeing and L3Harris, are among the more active sponsors for program analyst roles in Oklahoma. Healthcare systems like INTEGRIS Health and SSM Health, as well as energy companies headquartered in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, also appear in H-1B visa disclosure data for similar analytical positions. Federal contracting firms represent the most consistent source of sponsorship in the state.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program analyst positions in Oklahoma, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as information systems, business administration, or computer science, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, while Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the USMCA, provided the role aligns with covered professional categories.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City accounts for the largest share of program analyst sponsorship activity in the state, driven by its concentration of federal agencies, defense contractors near Tinker Air Force Base, and a growing healthcare sector. Tulsa is the second-largest market, with energy companies and financial services firms generating demand for analytical roles. Norman and Stillwater occasionally surface opportunities connected to the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University research operations.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for program analyst roles in Oklahoma without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, focusing on Oklahoma City and Tulsa where sponsorship activity is highest. Because program analyst is a broad title, searching related terms like 'business analyst' or 'systems analyst' on Migrate Mate can surface additional relevant openings from defense, energy, and healthcare employers in the state.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific considerations for program analyst visa sponsorship?
Oklahoma's heavy reliance on defense contracting creates a relevant complication: some program analyst roles tied to federal contracts require a security clearance, which is generally not available to workers on nonimmigrant visas. This limits the pool of sponsoring employers to those with commercial or unclassified government projects. University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University graduate programs in MIS and business analytics also feed local employer pipelines, which can influence how employers approach international hiring for these roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
