Which companies sponsor visas for program analysts in Nebraska?
Omaha-based employers with a track record of H-1B sponsorship for analytical roles include Union Pacific Railroad, Mutual of Omaha, First National Bank of Omaha, and Nelnet. State and federal government contractors operating in Lincoln also hire program analysts, though government positions themselves rarely offer direct visa sponsorship. Large healthcare systems like Nebraska Medicine have also filed LCAs for analyst-level roles.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program analysts in Nebraska, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a related field such as information systems, computer science, or business analytics. F-1 graduates on OPT or STEM OPT often enter Nebraska employers before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. The O-1 is less common but available for candidates with exceptional credentials.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of program analyst sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 companies, financial services firms, and technology employers. Lincoln is the second-largest market, supported by state government agencies, the University of Nebraska, and growing tech firms. Smaller cities like Grand Island and Kearney have limited sponsorship activity for this role.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Nebraska employers actively hiring program analysts who will support H-1B or other work visa petitions. Rather than sifting through general postings, you can search by role and state to surface employers with a demonstrated sponsorship history. Migrate Mate is built for international candidates navigating exactly this process.
Are there state-specific considerations for program analysts seeking sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor LCA rules apply to all H-1B program analyst positions, and employers must certify the offered wage meets the local prevailing rate for Omaha or Lincoln specifically. The University of Nebraska system serves as a meaningful pipeline, with international students on OPT frequently transitioning into analyst roles at in-state employers. Nebraska's lower cost of living can make compensation benchmarks more competitive relative to coastal markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
