Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for program analysts?
Principal Financial Group, Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, EMC Insurance, and Wells Fargo's Des Moines operations have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for analytical roles. State government agencies and Iowa's university systems also hire program analysts, though public sector sponsorship tends to be more selective. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data confirms which specific employers have filed for program analyst positions.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program analyst positions in Iowa, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like information systems, computer science, or business administration. Some candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT also fill program analyst roles while pursuing H-1B sponsorship through their employer.
Which cities in Iowa have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the large majority of program analyst sponsorship activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and state government employers. Cedar Rapids is a secondary market, with employers like Transamerica and Quaker Oats parent PepsiCo maintaining operations there. Iowa City and Ames see some demand tied to the University of Iowa and Iowa State University respectively.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for program analyst roles in Iowa without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings from Iowa's major employers in insurance, financial services, and government sectors. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate surfaces active sponsoring employers far faster than broad job searches.
Are there state-specific considerations for program analysts seeking sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B program analysts are determined by the Department of Labor's wage levels for the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids metro areas, which typically fall below coastal markets. Iowa's strong insurance and financial services industry creates consistent demand for program analysts with domain knowledge in those sectors. Iowa State University and the University of Iowa produce a steady local graduate pipeline, so international candidates often benefit from framing relevant academic or technical specializations clearly.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
