Search Program Analyst Jobs in South CarolinaProgram Analyst Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for program analysts in South Carolina?
Defense and federal IT contractors are the most active sponsors for program analyst roles in South Carolina. Companies such as Leidos, SAIC, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Deloitte have a notable presence in the Columbia and Charleston areas and have historically filed H-1B visa petitions for analyst positions. Large healthcare systems and state university research arms also sponsor, though less frequently than federal contractors.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program analysts in South Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems, business administration, or computer science. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT authorization from U.S. universities can work for a sponsoring employer while the H-1B petition is filed.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Columbia accounts for the largest concentration of program analyst sponsorship activity in South Carolina, driven by state agency IT contracts, University of South Carolina research operations, and federal presence at Fort Jackson. Charleston follows, with federal contracting work tied to the Naval Information Warfare Center and a growing commercial tech sector. Greenville sees some activity through healthcare and manufacturing-adjacent IT roles.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program analyst roles in South Carolina by verified visa sponsorship activity. Rather than sifting through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces employers in South Carolina that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for analyst-level positions, saving significant research time during an already stressful job search.
Are there any state-specific factors that affect program analyst sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's program analyst market is heavily shaped by federal contracting, which means many roles require security clearance eligibility. Visa holders who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents are generally ineligible for clearances, which can narrow the pool of sponsoring employers. Candidates should prioritize contractors with unclassified or commercial work streams, and confirm clearance requirements with the employer before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
