Which companies sponsor visas for program analysts in Ohio?
Ohio's largest visa sponsors for program analyst roles include government contractors, large healthcare systems such as Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth, financial institutions like Huntington Bancshares and KeyBank, and technology firms with Ohio operations. State and federal agencies in Columbus also hire program analysts, though direct government positions typically require citizenship. Contractor roles supporting those agencies are often open to sponsored workers.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program analysts in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems, business, or computer science. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and L-1 transfers apply when candidates move from an affiliated overseas office to an Ohio location.
Which cities in Ohio have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for program analyst sponsorship activity, driven by state government, defense contractors, and a growing tech sector. Cleveland follows, supported by its large healthcare and financial services employers. Cincinnati has a meaningful concentration of program analyst roles tied to consumer goods companies and logistics firms. Dayton also sees demand, particularly from defense and aerospace contractors near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters program analyst jobs in Ohio specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through roles that won't consider international candidates. The platform covers employers across Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton, including healthcare systems, government contractors, and financial services firms that have documented sponsorship histories for program analyst positions.
Are there state-specific factors that affect program analyst sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio has a strong pipeline of international graduates from Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati, which has shaped employer familiarity with OPT and H-1B sponsorship processes. Employers in defense-adjacent sectors may require security clearances, which can limit sponsorship options since clearances are generally not available to non-citizens. Healthcare and financial services firms in Ohio tend to have more established sponsorship infrastructure for program analyst roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
