Which companies sponsor visas for program coordinators in Oklahoma?
The most consistent sponsors for program coordinator roles in Oklahoma are universities and academic medical centers. The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and the OU Health system have documented H-1B sponsorship histories. Large nonprofit organizations and federal contractors operating in Oklahoma City and Tulsa also sponsor coordinators, particularly in grant-funded or research-adjacent program management roles.
Which visa types are most common for program coordinator roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program coordinators in Oklahoma, provided the role requires a specialized bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as public health, education, social work, or business. Some coordinators in academic or research settings may also qualify under the J-1 exchange visitor category. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional classifications.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most program coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the majority of program coordinator sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City draws from its large healthcare corridor, state agency presence, and the OU Health system. Tulsa has a strong nonprofit sector and is home to institutions like the University of Tulsa. Norman and Stillwater also generate openings tied to their major research universities.
How to find program coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find program coordinator roles in Oklahoma where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for sponsorship-eligible positions, so you are not sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. Focusing your search on Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and university towns like Norman and Stillwater will surface the highest concentration of relevant openings.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific considerations for program coordinators seeking visa sponsorship?
Oklahoma's sponsorship activity for program coordinators is heavily tied to its higher education and healthcare sectors, both of which are cap-exempt for H-1B purposes when the employer qualifies. This means roles at universities and affiliated medical centers are not subject to the annual H-1B lottery, which can simplify and accelerate the sponsorship process. Roles in the private sector remain subject to standard cap requirements and timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program coordinator jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
