Which companies sponsor visas for accountants in Oregon?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for accounting roles include Nike in Beaverton, Intel in Hillsboro, and major public accounting firms with Portland offices such as Deloitte, PwC, and KPMG. Healthcare systems like Oregon Health and Science University and Providence Health also hire sponsored accountants. Manufacturing and semiconductor companies concentrated in the Silicon Forest corridor file Labor Condition Applications for accounting positions regularly.
Which visa types are most common for accountant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for accountants in Oregon because accounting consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Some employers, particularly multinationals like Nike and Intel, also use the L-1 visa for intracompany transfers. Canadian and Mexican citizens qualify for the TN visa under the USMCA, which covers accountants as a listed profession.
Which cities in Oregon have the most accountant sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of sponsored accounting positions in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, Big Four offices, and financial services firms. The Washington County cities of Beaverton and Hillsboro are the next most active, primarily because of Nike and Intel. Eugene has a smaller but present market through the University of Oregon and regional firms. Salem's government and healthcare sectors also generate occasional sponsorship opportunities.
How to find accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon, with listings filtered specifically for employers who sponsor work visas. You can search by role and state to surface Oregon-based accounting positions at companies with sponsorship history. Targeting employers in Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro where sponsorship activity is highest will give you the strongest pool of opportunities.
Are there any Oregon-specific factors that affect accountant visa sponsorship?
Oregon has no state income tax filing for individuals, but this does not affect the federal LCA prevailing wage process employers must complete before sponsoring an H-1B accountant. Oregon's proximity to major Pacific Rim trade partners makes international accounting experience particularly valued at Portland-area importers and exporters. Oregon State University and the University of Oregon produce a pipeline of accounting graduates, so sponsored roles tend to be at the mid-to-senior level where specialized credentials like a CPA license strengthen candidacy.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accountant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
