Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for accounting managers?
Large multinationals with Oregon headquarters or significant operations are the most consistent sponsors. Nike in Beaverton, Intel in Hillsboro, and Oregon Health & Science University in Portland have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for accounting and finance roles. Precision Castparts and Daimler Trucks North America also maintain finance teams large enough to support sponsorship. Smaller regional firms sponsor far less frequently.
What visa types are most commonly used for accounting manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for accounting managers in Oregon, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the accountant category, which is employer-filed and not subject to the H-1B lottery. L-1 visa transfers are also possible for candidates moving within a multinational employer.
Which cities in Oregon have the most accounting manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of accounting manager sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and financial services firms. Beaverton and Hillsboro, part of the greater Portland metro, add significant volume through Nike and Intel. Eugene sees occasional opportunities through the University of Oregon and regional manufacturing, but Portland remains the clear hub for sponsored accounting leadership roles.
How to find accounting manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search accounting manager roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories, which is especially useful for a role like accounting manager where sponsorship depends heavily on company size and structure rather than the job title alone.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for accounting managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the Portland or Eugene metro areas, which are published in the DOL wage database and updated annually. Oregon's strong presence in semiconductor manufacturing, sportswear, and healthcare creates demand for accounting managers with industry-specific experience in cost accounting or government contract compliance, which can strengthen a sponsorship case with employers in those sectors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
