Search Executive Assistant Jobs in OregonExecutive Assistant Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for executive assistants?
Oregon's largest corporate employers are the most active sponsors for executive assistant roles. Nike's world headquarters in Beaverton, Intel's major campus in Hillsboro, and Adidas North America in Portland have all sponsored administrative professionals. Large healthcare systems like OHSU and Providence Health, along with financial institutions and professional services firms based in Portland, also sponsor executive assistant positions when they identify strong candidates.
Which visa types are most common for executive assistant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for executive assistant positions in Oregon, though it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in a specific field must be a genuine requirement. Some candidates also enter through L-1B intracompany transfers when moving from a foreign office of a multinational employer. TN status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories.
How to find executive assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it easier to identify Oregon employers actively willing to sponsor executive assistant candidates. Rather than sorting through hundreds of general postings, you can focus directly on roles where sponsorship is confirmed. Migrate Mate's search covers Oregon's key employment centers, including Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro, where corporate headquarters hiring executive assistants are concentrated.
Which cities in Oregon have the most executive assistant sponsorship opportunities?
Portland accounts for the majority of executive assistant sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, professional services firms, and healthcare institutions. The Portland metro area extends into Beaverton and Hillsboro, where Nike and Intel are headquartered, adding significantly to available roles. Eugene and Salem have smaller but active markets tied to state government, the University of Oregon, and regional business operations.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for executive assistant visa sponsorship?
Oregon follows federal prevailing wage requirements, so sponsoring employers must document that the offered compensation meets Department of Labor wage levels for the Portland or relevant metro area. Oregon's tech and athletic apparel industry concentration means executive assistant roles at companies like Nike or Intel often involve specialized responsibilities, which can strengthen the specialty occupation argument needed for H-1B classification. University of Oregon and Oregon State alumni networks are also active pipelines for administrative professionals entering Oregon's corporate sector.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored executive assistant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
