Which healthcare companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Oregon?
Oregon's largest healthcare employers, including Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Providence Health & Services, Legacy Health, PeaceHealth, and Kaiser Permanente Northwest, have histories of working with international students on CPT placements. Academic medical centers like OHSU are particularly active because their institutional research and clinical training programs align closely with CPT's curriculum-integration requirement.
Which cities in Oregon have the most healthcare F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Portland holds the largest concentration of healthcare F-1 CPT opportunities in Oregon, anchored by OHSU's medical campus and the headquarters of Providence and Legacy Health. Salem and Eugene are secondary markets with regional hospital systems and community health organizations. Bend is a growing option, with St. Charles Health System expanding its clinical and administrative operations in recent years.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for CPT must be directly tied to your degree program's curriculum. In healthcare, this commonly includes clinical research coordinator positions, public health analyst roles, health informatics internships, healthcare administration placements, and laboratory research assistantships. Roles in nursing or direct patient care often have additional licensure requirements that can complicate CPT eligibility, so confirming fit with your Designated School Official before applying is important.
How do I find healthcare F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters healthcare jobs in Oregon by visa type, including F-1 CPT. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing which employers accommodate CPT, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, saving time during a period when your CPT authorization timeline matters. You can filter by state, industry, and visa category to focus your search on Oregon healthcare roles.
Are there any Oregon-specific or healthcare-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Oregon's healthcare sector is heavily integrated with academic institutions, which generally makes CPT placements more accessible than in states with fewer teaching hospitals. However, Oregon's healthcare licensing requirements, particularly for clinical roles, can affect which positions international students are eligible to hold on CPT. Additionally, OHSU and other academic medical centers often require CPT authorization to be coordinated between the employer's HR team and your university's international student office well in advance of a start date.
