Which companies sponsor visas for project development managers in Oregon?
Intel's Hillsboro campus is one of Oregon's most active H-1B sponsors and regularly hires project development managers across its semiconductor fabrication operations. Other notable sponsors include Nike in Beaverton, Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, PacifiCorp, and engineering firms supporting Oregon's growing clean energy and infrastructure sectors. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in the Portland metro area.
Which visa types are most common for project development manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project development managers in Oregon, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa. Those with significant senior leadership experience may explore the O-1A for extraordinary ability. L-1A transfers apply for managers moving within a multinational company.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project development manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the majority of project development manager sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's Hillsboro operations alone drive substantial demand. Eugene sees hiring tied to the University of Oregon and regional infrastructure projects. Bend has emerged as a secondary market, particularly for renewable energy development roles as solar and wind projects expand in central Oregon.
How to find project development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Oregon employers actively hiring project development managers who are open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job listings manually, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is already part of the employer's hiring process, which is particularly useful given how selectively companies disclose sponsorship intentions upfront.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for project development manager visa sponsorship?
Oregon employers filing H-1B petitions for project development managers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro or Eugene metropolitan areas depending on work location. Oregon's semiconductor and clean energy sectors have driven consistent H-1B filing volumes, and Intel's cap-exempt status as an H-1B dependent employer with research ties means some roles may not be subject to the annual lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project development manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
