Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for senior DevOps engineers?
Intel is one of Oregon's largest tech employers and has a long history of sponsoring H-1B visas for engineering roles, including senior DevOps and infrastructure positions at its Hillsboro campuses. Nike and Adidas both maintain significant technology operations in the Portland area and have sponsored visas for senior engineers. Cloud-focused companies and SaaS startups in the Portland metro also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA filings for DevOps roles.
Which visa types are most common for senior DevOps engineer roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for senior DevOps engineers in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Some candidates may also qualify for the O-1A if they can demonstrate extraordinary ability. Candidates already holding L-1B status through an intracompany transfer are another segment employers in Oregon's multinational tech sector occasionally sponsor.
How to find senior devops engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, which saves significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered postings. For senior DevOps engineer roles in Oregon, you can search by state and seniority level on Migrate Mate to surface employers who have actively indicated sponsorship willingness. Given that Intel, Nike, and Portland-area cloud companies are frequent sponsors, setting up alerts for Oregon DevOps roles on Migrate Mate helps you track new openings as they appear.
Which cities in Oregon have the most senior DevOps engineer visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of senior DevOps engineer sponsorship opportunities in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech companies, e-commerce brands, and software startups. Hillsboro, part of the Portland metro, is a distinct hub due to Intel's substantial campus presence there. Beaverton also contributes roles through Nike's global headquarters. Eugene and Bend have smaller but growing tech communities, though sponsorship activity at the senior DevOps level remains most concentrated in the Portland metro corridor.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for senior DevOps engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon does not have a state income tax on wages earned outside the state, but residents are subject to state income tax, which is worth understanding when comparing offers. For visa sponsorship purposes, employers must pay the prevailing wage for the role and location as determined by Department of Labor guidelines, and Portland and Hillsboro have distinct prevailing wage determinations that apply to H-1B petitions. Oregon's semiconductor and cloud infrastructure sectors tend to support stronger sponsorship pipelines than industries in smaller Oregon markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior devops engineer jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
