Which companies sponsor visas for strategy roles in Oregon?
Nike and Adidas, both headquartered in the Portland metro area, are among the most active sponsors for strategy roles in Oregon, regularly filing H-1B petitions for corporate strategy, brand strategy, and business planning positions. Intel's Hillsboro campus also sponsors strategy and operations roles. Beyond these anchors, mid-size tech and healthcare companies in the Portland area sponsor international candidates for strategy functions.
Which visa types are most common for strategy roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy roles in Oregon, as positions like corporate strategy manager, business strategy analyst, and market strategy lead typically require a relevant bachelor's or advanced degree, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary recognition in their field may qualify for an O-1A. Those transferring within a multinational company may be eligible for an L-1A or L-1B visa depending on their role.
Which cities in Oregon have the most strategy sponsorship jobs?
Portland and its surrounding metro, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the vast majority of strategy sponsorship activity in Oregon. Nike and Adidas are based in Beaverton, while Intel's major campus sits in Hillsboro. Downtown Portland hosts a growing concentration of tech startups, financial services firms, and healthcare organizations that also hire for strategy functions. Eugene sees limited sponsorship activity but some university-adjacent opportunities exist.
How to find strategy visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., including strategy roles in Oregon. You can filter by state and role type to surface companies that have a demonstrated history of sponsoring work visas for strategy positions. Searching through Migrate Mate helps you avoid applying to roles where sponsorship is unlikely and focus your effort on employers actively open to international hires.
Are there any state-specific considerations for strategy visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, but employers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage rules when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application for strategy roles. Oregon's consumer goods and tech sectors drive most sponsorship activity, so candidates with backgrounds in strategic planning, product strategy, or business operations aligned to those industries tend to be the strongest fit for roles with visa support in this state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
