Which companies sponsor visas for technical project managers in Oregon?
Intel is one of Oregon's most consistent H-1B visa sponsors for technical project managers, particularly at its large Hillsboro campus. Nike, Adidas North America, and Daimler Trucks North America in Portland have also filed LCAs for TPM roles. Smaller technology firms and semiconductor companies clustered in the Portland metro area round out the sponsorship pool, though sponsorship practices vary by employer and year.
Which visa types are most common for technical project manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the primary visa category for technical project managers in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1B intracompany transfers are relevant for candidates moving from a foreign office of a company with Oregon operations. TN visa status covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain qualifying project management classifications.
Which cities in Oregon have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the broader Portland metro area, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the overwhelming majority of technical project manager sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's Hillsboro campus alone generates significant TPM demand in the semiconductor space. Eugene has a smaller but growing technology presence tied partly to the University of Oregon's graduate programs, though it trails the Portland metro considerably in sponsorship volume.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to search for technical project manager roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role type to surface active openings at Oregon employers like Intel, Nike, and Portland-area tech firms. Migrate Mate's listings focus on employers with a documented history of sponsoring international candidates in technical roles.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical project manager sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa or sponsorship requirements, but employers must meet federal prevailing wage obligations under the Labor Condition Application process. Oregon's Department of Employment publishes occupational wage data that feeds into DOL determinations for project management roles. Intel's deep presence in Washington County has created a regional ecosystem familiar with the H-1B process, which can make mid-career technical project managers with semiconductor or hardware experience particularly competitive in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
