Regulatory Specialist
Location: Hershey, PA
Job Type: 12 months contract
We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to support Regulatory Affairs activities for Salty Snacks brands, ensuring compliance with U.S. food regulations across the product lifecycle—from ideation through commercialization and post-launch. This role partners cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Legal, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to deliver compliant ingredients, formulas, labels, claims, and certifications for Salty products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regulatory compliance support for Salty Snacks brands, including ingredient, recipe, labeling, and claims reviews
- Execute finished product labeling activities from creation through final packaging approval
- Review and assess ingredients, additives, flavors, colors, allergens, and processing aids for U.S. regulatory compliance
- Support claims substantiation including nutrition, organic, non-GMO, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and whole grain claims
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support innovation, renovation, and continuous improvement projects
- Utilize systems such as SAP-PLM/PDM, labeling and compliance tools, and Webcenter/ESKO to document regulatory decisions and approvals
- Support responses to internal and external regulatory inquiries, including consumer and customer questions
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of U.S. food regulations including labeling, allergens, claims, ingredients, and additives
- Experience with finished product labeling, artwork reviews, and approvals
- Experience supporting regulatory activities in a fast-paced consumer packaged goods environment
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of Regulatory Affairs experience within food companies
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. food labeling and ingredient regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Regulatory, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
- Experience supporting cross-functional product development teams
