Which companies sponsor visas for technical product managers in Pennsylvania?
Comcast and NBCUniversal in Philadelphia, SAP America in Newtown Square, and UPMC and Carnegie Mellon University-affiliated tech companies in Pittsburgh have publicly filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for technical product manager roles. Defense contractors like Lockheed Martin and Unisys, both with Pennsylvania operations, also sponsor technical product managers, particularly those with systems or software backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for technical product manager roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical product managers in Pennsylvania, given the role's requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B intracompany transferee status through multinationals like SAP or Unisys represent another pathway. Individuals with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also qualify under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most technical product manager sponsorship jobs?

Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for technical product managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Pennsylvania's concentration of large healthcare systems, defense contractors, and enterprise technology firms means many sponsoring employers are subject to H-1B dependent employer rules, which require additional attestation steps. Pittsburgh's university ecosystem, particularly Carnegie Mellon, creates a competitive candidate pool, which can influence how quickly employers move on sponsorship decisions. Prevailing wage requirements for technical product manager roles in Philadelphia are typically set at higher levels than in smaller Pennsylvania cities, reflecting local market data used by the Department of Labor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical product manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
