Which companies sponsor visas for development managers in Rhode Island?
Financial services and health tech employers lead sponsorship activity for development managers in Rhode Island. CVS Health, Fidelity Investments, and Lifespan Health System have filed H-1B visa labor condition applications for technical management roles in recent years. Defense contractors and biotech firms in the Providence and Woonsocket areas also sponsor development managers, particularly where teams require engineering or software leadership with specialized credentials.
Which visa types are most common for development manager roles in Rhode Island?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for development manager positions in Rhode Island, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Candidates with multinational employer backgrounds may also see L-1A petitions for intracompany manager transfers. Australians working in this role may qualify for the E-3 visa as an alternative to H-1B.
Which cities in Rhode Island have the most development manager sponsorship jobs?
Providence accounts for the majority of development manager sponsorship activity in Rhode Island, driven by its concentration of financial services, health systems, and technology employers. Woonsocket is notable given CVS Health's headquarters presence. Smaller clusters of technical leadership roles appear in East Providence and Warwick, often tied to defense contractors, insurance technology firms, and regional healthcare networks.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse development manager openings in Rhode Island without sorting through roles that don't support international candidates. You can search by role and state to surface employers actively hiring for this position. Given that sponsorship willingness varies significantly by company size and sector, using a dedicated platform like Migrate Mate saves considerable time in the search process.
What state-specific factors should development managers know about visa sponsorship in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island's smaller labor market means fewer total openings than larger states, but competition for sponsored roles can be less intense. The state's strong ties to Brown University, Providence College, and URI create employer familiarity with international talent pipelines. Development managers in Rhode Island should note that prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply based on the specific job location and are determined by Department of Labor wage data for the Providence metropolitan area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Rhode Island?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
