Which companies sponsor visas for development managers in Kentucky?
Louisville-based Humana is among the most active sponsors for technology and development management roles in Kentucky, given its scale in healthcare IT. Other notable employers include Tempur Sealy International, Lexmark, and regional financial institutions. Larger national employers with Kentucky operations, such as Amazon's fulfillment and logistics divisions, have also filed H-1B petitions for management-track technology roles.
Which visa types are most common for development manager roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa for development managers in Kentucky, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like computer science, engineering, or information systems. L-1A visas apply for managers transferring within a multinational company. Candidates with an approved I-140 may also enter on an EB-1C or EB-2 pathway through employer sponsorship.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most development manager sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of development manager visa sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of healthcare, logistics, and financial services employers. Lexington is a secondary hub, supported by the University of Kentucky's technology ecosystem and mid-size enterprise software companies. Frankfort and Northern Kentucky (near Cincinnati) occasionally surface roles, particularly in government-adjacent IT and cross-border regional employers.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search development manager roles in Kentucky without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings from employers that have a documented history of filing work visa petitions, which is particularly useful in a mid-size market like Kentucky where sponsoring employers are fewer but identifiable.
Are there state-specific considerations for development managers seeking sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky does not have state-level visa programs, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and employment-based green card rules. Development manager roles in Kentucky's healthcare IT sector, particularly in Louisville, often require familiarity with HIPAA-regulated environments, which can strengthen a candidate's profile with major sponsors like Humana. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville also generate local talent pipelines that some employers draw on when evaluating international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
