Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for development managers?
Garmin in Olathe is one of the most consistent H-1B sponsors in Kansas, frequently hiring development managers in software and engineering. Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita has sponsored international workers in technical leadership roles tied to aerospace. Cerner (now Oracle Health) and financial services firms in Overland Park and Kansas City also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for sponsored management positions.
Which visa types are most common for development manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for development managers in Kansas, particularly for roles requiring a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT often transition to H-1B through employer sponsorship. The L-1A is another path for managers transferring from an overseas office of a U.S. company with Kansas operations.
Which cities in Kansas have the most development manager visa sponsorship jobs?
Overland Park and Kansas City have the highest concentration of development manager sponsorship activity in Kansas, driven by tech, financial services, and healthcare IT employers. Olathe is notable for Garmin's engineering and product development operations. Wichita generates sponsorship demand in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, where development managers overseeing technical teams are commonly recruited internationally.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify development manager openings in Kansas without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can search by role and state to surface active listings from employers in Overland Park, Wichita, and Olathe. Migrate Mate is built for international job seekers, so every listed role is screened for sponsorship eligibility.
Are there any Kansas-specific considerations for development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Kansas employers sponsoring H-1B workers for development manager roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to the Wichita or Kansas City metropolitan areas depending on job location. Kansas has a smaller H-1B filing volume than coastal tech hubs, so sponsorship is most accessible through established employers with prior filing history rather than early-stage startups, which may lack the infrastructure to support the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
