Which companies sponsor visas for product owners in South Carolina?
Companies with a track record of H-1B sponsorship for product and technology roles in South Carolina include Benefitfocus and Blackbaud in Charleston, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in Columbia, and Michelin North America in Greenville. Larger employers with established product teams are generally more willing and equipped to navigate visa sponsorship than smaller startups.
Which visa types are most common for product owner roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product owner roles in South Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like computer science, business, or information systems. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and those from Canada or Mexico may be eligible for TN visa status under the USMCA, which covers certain business and computer-related roles.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most product owner sponsorship jobs?
Charleston leads South Carolina for product owner sponsorship activity, driven by a concentration of software and healthcare technology companies. Columbia, the state capital, has opportunities through government contractors, insurance firms, and university-adjacent tech employers. Greenville is an emerging hub with a growing manufacturing technology and operations software sector, particularly tied to automotive and industrial companies with product teams.
How to find product owner visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to browse product owner roles in South Carolina without sifting through positions that don't offer immigration support. You can filter by state and role type to see which employers are actively hiring product owners who need sponsorship, saving significant time compared to manually screening general job postings.
Are there any South Carolina-specific considerations for product owners seeking visa sponsorship?
South Carolina's product owner market is tied closely to specific industry clusters: healthcare IT in Charleston, financial services software in Columbia, and industrial technology in Greenville. Employers in these sectors file Labor Condition Applications with the Department of Labor before sponsoring H-1B workers, certifying that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. University of South Carolina and Clemson produce local tech talent, so sponsored roles tend to be at mid-to-senior levels where specialized experience differentiates international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product owner jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
