Search Product Support Engineer Jobs in TennesseeProduct Support Engineer Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for product support engineers in Tennessee?
Several large technology and enterprise software employers in Tennessee have a history of sponsoring work visas for product support engineers. Oracle and Asurion, both with significant operations in the Nashville area, have filed H-1B petitions for technical support roles. Healthcare IT companies such as Change Healthcare and Qualifacts, also active in Tennessee, regularly hire internationally for product support positions requiring specialized system knowledge.
Which visa types are most common for product support engineer roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used category for product support engineers in Tennessee, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science or engineering. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA-successor agreement if the position aligns with a qualifying professional category. Australian nationals holding an E-3 visa are another option when the role meets specialty occupation criteria.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most product support engineer sponsorship jobs?
Nashville concentrates the largest share of product support engineering opportunities in Tennessee, driven by its healthcare technology and fintech sectors. Memphis offers roles tied to logistics technology and supply chain software companies. Knoxville has growing demand linked to manufacturing technology firms and university-adjacent startups near the University of Tennessee. Chattanooga, with its emerging tech corridor, also hosts a smaller but active cluster of relevant employers.
How to find product support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to identify product support engineer positions in Tennessee without sifting through listings that exclude international candidates. You can narrow results by state and role to surface active openings from Tennessee-based employers who have previously sponsored H-1B or other work visas for technical support professionals.
Are there state-specific considerations for product support engineers seeking visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects how prevailing wage calculations compare to total compensation in other states. The Department of Labor sets prevailing wages for H-1B positions by metropolitan area, so Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis each have distinct wage floor requirements for the same job title. Tennessee's concentration of healthcare IT employers also means many product support roles involve HIPAA-sensitive systems, which can influence the technical requirements employers list in Labor Condition Applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product support engineer jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
