Which companies sponsor visas for project accountants in Tennessee?
Construction and engineering firms are among the most consistent sponsors for project accountants in Tennessee. Companies such as Brasfield & Gorrie, Skanska USA, and Turner Construction have Tennessee operations with ongoing capital projects requiring dedicated project accounting support. Large healthcare systems like HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center also hire project accountants for facility expansion and IT capital programs, and have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories.
Which visa types are most common for project accountant roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project accountants in Tennessee, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with a master's degree may qualify for the advanced degree exemption, which slightly improves H-1B selection odds. Those already holding TN visa or L-1 visa status through a qualifying employer transfer may also be eligible depending on their situation.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most project accountant sponsorship jobs?
Nashville concentrates the largest share of project accountant sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its construction boom, healthcare sector, and growing corporate headquarters presence. Memphis is a secondary hub with activity in logistics infrastructure and healthcare capital projects. Knoxville sees demand tied to TVA, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and regional construction firms managing energy and government-funded projects across East Tennessee.
How to find project accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles, including project accountant positions in Tennessee. You can filter by role and state to see employers who have sponsored visas for similar positions. Because project accountant roles often appear under construction, engineering, or healthcare employers, browsing by industry on Migrate Mate can surface opportunities that a generic keyword search might miss.
Are there state-specific factors that affect project accountant visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and total compensation structures that employers must account for when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application. The state's strong construction pipeline, partly supported by federal infrastructure funding, keeps demand steady for project accountants. University programs at the University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt also produce local candidates, so international applicants benefit from targeting employers with active federal or large-scale commercial project portfolios where specialized experience adds clear value.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project accountant jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
