Which technology companies in Tennessee sponsor work visas?
Major Tennessee technology employers that sponsor visas include HCA Healthcare for healthcare IT roles, Asurion for mobile technology positions, Tractor Supply Company for e-commerce development, and FedEx for logistics technology in Memphis. Nashville's growing fintech sector with companies like SmileDirectClub and healthcare technology firms also actively sponsor H-1B visa and other work visas for software engineers and data scientists.
How to find technology visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international technology professionals with Tennessee employers who sponsor work visas. The platform filters jobs specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility and includes positions from Nashville's tech hub, Memphis logistics companies, and healthcare technology firms throughout the state, making it easier to identify legitimate sponsorship opportunities in Tennessee's technology sector.
What visa types do Tennessee technology companies typically sponsor?
Tennessee technology companies primarily sponsor H-1B visas for software engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity specialists. Healthcare technology firms like HCA Healthcare also sponsor O-1 visas for professionals with extraordinary ability in medical technology. TN visas are common for Canadian and Mexican technology professionals, while larger corporations may sponsor L-1 visas for international transfers.
Which Tennessee cities have the most technology visa sponsorship opportunities?
Nashville leads Tennessee's technology visa sponsorship market with its concentrated healthcare technology sector, fintech companies, and major employers like Asurion and HCA Healthcare. Memphis follows with logistics technology roles at FedEx and healthcare companies. Knoxville offers opportunities primarily through university-affiliated research and regional technology firms, though the volume is significantly lower than Nashville and Memphis.
How do Tennessee prevailing wages affect technology visa applications?
Tennessee's lower cost of living results in prevailing wages for technology roles that are typically 15-25% below national averages, which can benefit both employers and visa applicants during the Labor Condition Application process. Nashville technology positions generally command higher wages than Memphis or Knoxville, with healthcare technology and fintech roles offering the most competitive compensation packages for visa holders.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technology jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
