Which construction companies sponsor TN visas in Tennessee?
Large general contractors and engineering firms with active Tennessee operations are the most common TN visa sponsors in construction. Companies like Skanska, Turner Construction, AECOM, and Jacobs Engineering have filed TN-supporting Labor Condition Applications for professional roles in the state. Specialty engineering consultancies and architecture firms working on Tennessee's growing industrial and infrastructure pipeline also sponsor qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most construction TN sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads Tennessee for construction TN sponsorship opportunities, driven by sustained commercial development, mixed-use projects, and infrastructure investment across the metro area. Memphis is active in logistics facility construction and civil infrastructure tied to its distribution corridor. Knoxville and Chattanooga also generate sponsorship demand, particularly for civil engineers and project managers supporting regional transportation and industrial projects.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility in construction is limited to professional-level roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a qualifying field. Engineers (civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical), architects, urban planners, and project managers with relevant degrees are the roles most commonly supported. General trades, site labor, and supervisory roles that don't require a specific professional degree do not qualify under the TN category.
How do I find construction TN sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate lists construction jobs in Tennessee where employers are open to TN visa sponsorship, filtered specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals. You can browse roles by job type, location, and visa category to identify positions in civil engineering, architecture, and project management across Nashville, Memphis, and other Tennessee markets. Migrate Mate removes the guesswork of identifying which postings are realistically open to TN candidates.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for TN visa sponsorship in construction?
Tennessee has no state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal TN rules, but the state's active infrastructure investment means employers here are accustomed to sponsoring professional-level construction roles. Projects tied to federal contracts or public infrastructure may have additional compliance requirements that affect how employers structure sponsorship. Canadian citizens can enter on a TN at the port of entry, while Mexican nationals require consular visa processing before starting work.
