Search Accounting Manager Jobs in TexasAccounting Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for accounting managers in Texas?
Large multinationals and Fortune 500 companies headquartered or operating in Texas are among the most active sponsors for accounting manager roles. These include energy companies concentrated in Houston such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Halliburton, as well as technology firms in Austin and financial services companies across Dallas. Big Four accounting firms with Texas offices, including Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, also have established sponsorship programs for qualified candidates.
Which visa types are most common for accounting manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for accounting managers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates with CPA credentials and advanced degrees may also be considered for EB-2 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. Intracompany transferees at multinationals with Texas offices may qualify for the L-1A visa, particularly in managerial capacities.
Which cities in Texas have the most accounting manager sponsorship jobs?
Houston generates the highest volume of accounting manager sponsorship opportunities, driven by the energy sector and a dense concentration of multinational headquarters. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, supported by financial services, healthcare, and corporate headquarters including AT&T and American Airlines. Austin's growing technology sector has increased demand for senior accounting professionals, with companies like Dell, Apple, and Tesla maintaining significant Texas operations that require experienced accounting leadership.
How to find accounting manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship jobs, including accounting manager roles in Texas. You can filter directly by state and job title to see verified sponsorship opportunities with employers who have a documented history of filing H-1B petitions. This removes the guesswork of identifying which companies actually sponsor, saving time compared to applying broadly without that context. Creating a profile on Migrate Mate allows you to track relevant openings as they are posted.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for accounting manager visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage benchmarking since the Department of Labor calculates wage levels using regional data specific to each metropolitan statistical area. Accounting managers in Houston, Dallas, and Austin each fall under different prevailing wage determinations, so the required salary on an H-1B Labor Condition Application will reflect local market rates for that metro. Additionally, Texas's concentration of energy-sector employers means candidates with oil and gas accounting experience, including GAAP reporting and joint interest billing, have a competitive advantage in the Houston market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
