Which companies sponsor visas for business development managers in Texas?
Large multinationals with significant Texas operations are the most consistent sponsors for business development manager roles. Companies like Dell Technologies, Texas Instruments, AT&T, ExxonMobil, Oracle, and Salesforce have established visa sponsorship programs and regularly file H-1B petitions for business development positions. Mid-size technology and energy companies in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston also sponsor, particularly when candidates bring specialized technical or industry knowledge the domestic hiring pool lacks.
Which visa types are most common for business development manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business development managers in Texas, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline relevant to the employer's industry. Intracompany transferees at multinational firms may qualify for the L-1B or L-1A. Candidates from Australia, Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Singapore may have additional treaty-based options worth exploring with an immigration attorney.
How to find business development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it a practical starting point for business development manager roles in Texas. You can filter by state and job function to surface employers who have an active history of sponsoring work visas. Focusing on companies in Austin's tech sector, Dallas-Fort Worth's corporate headquarters, and Houston's energy and healthcare industries will give you the strongest concentration of sponsoring employers for this role type.
Which cities in Texas have the most business development manager sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads Texas for business development manager sponsorship volume, anchored by corporate headquarters for AT&T, Texas Instruments, and numerous financial services firms. Austin follows closely given its concentration of technology companies and regional offices for global firms like Apple, Google, and Tesla. Houston is the primary market for energy, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. San Antonio has a smaller but growing base in cybersecurity and healthcare-adjacent business development roles.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for business development manager visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage benchmarking because compensation packages are structured differently than in high-tax states. Employers must still meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metropolitan area where the role is based, and wages differ between Dallas, Austin, and Houston metro areas. Texas's large university system, including UT Austin and Texas A&M, creates a strong pipeline of international graduates who are already in-state and familiar to local employers, which can work in your favor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
